Shearman & Sterling’s London office has secured a major instruction acting for German power company E.ON on its potential £10.2bn bid for Scottish Power, which also looks set to gift Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer a major role acting for the target company.
If the deal goes ahead it will be one of the largest takeover offers seen this year and would be a major coup for the New York-based firm.
