Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Herbert Smith have taken the lead UK roles advising on the high-profile sale by electricity producer Scottish Power of its US subsidiary, PacifiCorp.
Freshfields and Herbert Smith are respectively advising on UK issues for UK-based Scottish Power and Iowa-based energy provider MidAmerican Energy Holdings, which is acquiring PacifiCorp for a total consideration of $9.4bn (£5.15bn), including $4.3bn (£2.36bn) of debt.
