Allen & Overy (A&O) is representing six of the non-executive defendant directors in the Equitable Life case under a conditional fee arrangement (CFA), it has emerged, after insurance cover for the defendants’ legal costs ran out.
In a highly unusual move for a major City firm, the A&O team switched to a success fee after a director and officers insurance policy for Equitable directors ran out of money to cover legal costs.
