People only vaguely familiar with Ireland may hear it described as ‘a land of mists and myths’. On an unkind interpretation, this might be taken to suggest Ireland is a country where it rains a lot and people tell tall stories.

It has certainly been hard to completely dispel suspicions that the dramatic improvement in Ireland’s economic climate seen in the past decade was too good to be true. However, the recent strengthening of activity and employment, and an increasingly positive out-look, suggest Ireland will remain one of the world’s best performing economies in coming years.
