Five years ago Taylor Joynson Garrett (TJG) was a quality City practice with a strong brand in the technology sector, respected corporate, litigation and property teams and a much-envied IP practice.

The firm, which in 2000 turned its back on the prospect of a merger with long-time US ally Graham & James, was often cast alongside Macfarlanes and Travers Smith in the ‘golden circle’ of single-site City firms that had built profitable corporate-led practices at the upper mid-range of the UK market.
