The last year has witnessed a reversal in the fortunes of participants in the corporate finance market in Manchester. Two years ago, the northwest corporate finance market was fairly stagnant. Deal activity was sporadic and corporate teams were enduring low levels of utilisation.
It was not surprising, therefore, that some of the principal law firms in the city of Manchester were cutting back on corporate finance investment. During 2004, however, there was a substantial upswing in the levels of corporate finance activity in the northwest, which has led to a record year for many of the corporate teams across Manchester.
