SJ Berwin has advised pub and bar operator Laurel Pub Company on its £151m sale of a majority stake to R20, an investment vehicle of Iranian property tycoon Robert Tchenguiz. Shearman & Sterling M&A partner Adrian Knight advised R20, which raised debt from Iceland’s Kaupthing Bank. Corporate partners Simon Hall and Kathy Hughes of Slaughter and May acted for Kaupthing.
