Clifford Chance (CC) has taken the lead role on Societe Generale’s (SocGen’s) sale of two private equity funds to Goldman Sachs in a deal valued at A 400m (£273m).

CC advised SocGen on the deal, which involved UK, US and Scots law. Corporate partner Matthew Judd led the CC team, with litigation partner Simon Davis, tax partner Richard McIlwe and banking partner Richard Pettit. New York partners David Moldenhauer and Andrew Oringer advised on US aspects. CC is a regular adviser to SocGen and advised on the formation of each of the funds.
