The £142m acquisition of Killingholme Power Station by energy provider Centrica has been agreed, with Herbert Smith advising Centrica. Henry Davey (corporate) co-led the team with Anna Howell of the energy, natural resources and projects group. Killingholme has been managed by a group of 20 stakeholder banks since it split from US energy giant NRG in 2003.

Automotive services group Inchcape has acquired UK distributor South-well Motor Co and its subsidiary Leadley in an £18m transaction. Nabarro Nathanson commercial property partner Belinda Solomon advised on behalf of Inchcape. Jonathan Thornton, head of corporate and commercial at Russell-Cook, advised Southwell Motor Co.
