Nabarro Nathanson is fighting a rear-guard action to stop the bulk of its highly-rated City public sector team moving to Trowers & Hamlins, it has emerged.
Department head Malcolm Iley and partner Helen Randall announced their departure for Trowers at the end of May, taking with them senior associate Paul McDermott, leaving Nabarros with no dedicated public law partners in London. However, Legal Week understands that Trowers is interested in hiring up to seven more solicitors from the firm, which would mean that the majority of the department would transfer over with Iley and Randall.
