westminster: l-cat set up to centralise government legal spendingThe Office For Government Commerce (OGC) is set to more than double the amount of work pumped through its much vaunted ‘super panel’ with officials predicting the centralised panel will hand out more than £7m in legal fees in its second year of operation.

The forecast comes as the OGC confirmed the 32-firm panel, dubbed Legal Category or L-Cat, farmed out £4.3m worth of legal fees in its first 10 months of operation – nearly double the target.
