The Law Society is set to uphold the ban on law firms acting in conflict of interest situations, rejecting calls from the City to substantially liberalise the conflicts regime.
The Law Society council is today (26 February) debating its modernised rulebook for the profession, which will ban the use of Chinese Walls in conflict situations and introduce for the first time an explicit definition of a conflict of interest.
