The Government has, as promised, reviewed the Employment Relations Act 1999, consulted and published draft legislation – the Employment Relations Bill, destined for enactment in 2004.
The act will make significant changes, some controversial, to the existing statutory regulation procedures and industrial relations law (contained now, for the most part, in Trade Union and Labour Relations [Consolidation] Act 1992 [TULCRA]).
