Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has won a high profile beauty parade against magic circle competition to advise retail giant GUS on a £900m financing – the first time the firm has advised the client on such a deal.

BLP, which principally advises the retailing client on corporate, commercial and real estate matters, won the tender to advise on the multi-currency five-year credit facility revolving at the option of GUS.
