California’s top technology specialists appear to have turned the corner after three years of plunging profits with new research showing the top 10 Bay Area firms boosting profits and income in 2003.

The research, by San Francisco magazine The Recorder, found that fee income rose in eight out of the 10 largest law firms in the Bay Area region – a sharp contrast to similar research last year which found collective falls in revenue among the same peer group of more than $200m (£110m).
