Bernstein’s Handbook of Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Practice
By John Tackaberry QC and Arthur Marriott QC
Publisher: Sweet & Maxwell
Price: £165

Another year, another guide to arbitration. However, Bernstein’s Handbook provides more than most. As well as exhaustive and practical coverage of the main issues likely to arise in England-based arbitrations, there is a section covering all major, and a number of minor, forms of arbitration and ADR. There is also a 1,200-page second volume, containing a variety of relevant laws, institutional rules, conventions and other materials, plus a very full and easily used index. In fact ‘Handbook’ is something of a misnomer – unless you have very large hands.
