“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Viewed from the corporate arena, many companies would find it bemusing that partnerships could be seen as anything other than preferred structures for doing business.

The very words ‘partner’ and ‘partnership’ convey strong messages. Your ‘partner’ is your ally or companion (nowadays often in a long-term relationship) and clearly somebody you can trust. A partner is seen as someone in a strong team clearly playing on the same side. Partnership denotes equal sharing of effort and reward. When partnerships incorporate, one of their greatest fears is that they will lose that ‘partnership ethos’, and with it good people and profitability.
