Macfarlanes corporate partner Simon Martin advised the management team of specialist insurance company Home & Legacy on their £20m private equity investment by Sand Aire Private Equity. Martin was supported by fellow corporate partner Stephen Drewitt and corporate assistant Zoey Handforth. The deal sees Sand Aire take a stake of around 35% in the company, bringing in new money and allowing the three principal shareholders to realise part of their investment. Olswang private equity partner Chris Mackie advised Sand Aire, supported by corporate assistant Cathy Taylor.

Leeds-based DLA corporate partner Jonathan Procter advised Brewin Dolphin Securities on its role as financial adviser and broker to the £10m placing and open offer by Nord Anglia Education. Procter was supported by corporate associate Benjamin Whitworth. Nord Anglia was advised by Manchester-based Addleshaw Goddard corporate partner Richard Fleetwood, supported by corporate associate Hannah Metcalf. The deal provides Nord Anglia with working capital to fund future acquisitions, principally in the nursery sector.
