Barclays Bank’s former legal chief, Howard Trust, has been expelled from the Law Society council for failing to turn up for three successive meetings.
Trust, who was appointed group general counsel to fund management group Schroders in May, had been the Law Society member for the Commerce & Industry Group since March 2002 and was one of the most high-profile City lawyers on the society’s 100-member council.
