Eversheds has beaten stiff competition from Macfarlanes and the magic circle to pick up the £9bn British Airways pension scheme as main adviser – the 12th-largest pension scheme in the UK.
London-based pensions partner Anthony Arter led the pitch, competing against a number of firms including incumbents Macfarlanes, as well as Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Clifford Chance, to become adviser to the trustees of the fund, which has more than 100,000 members.
