Leading European investment bank ABN Amro has instigated a crackdown on the conflicts disclosure procedures of its legal advisers amid rising client concerns that City advisers are failing to declare potential conflicts.
ABN Amro now insists that all firms used by the bank must provide a signed declaration that each instruction has been cleared by the law firm’s internal conflict system before it allows any work to proceed.
