Expectations that the House of Lords would stem the flow of asbestos-related claims were quashed last week by a decision in a controversial test case.
The Lords overturned the decision in the Fox, Matthews and Fairchild appeal on 16 May, which is expected to force insurance companies to pay out to mesothelioma victims, even if it cannot be proved where the disease was picked up.
