AXA joins exodus from PI market

Insurance giant AXA has become the latest provider to withdraw from the solicitors’ professional indemnity (PI) market after last month deciding to pull out of the wider UK PI market.

Adrian Ballardie, chief executive of AXA Corporate Solutions UK, confirmed that the company has decided to close its books to new work. The decision was effective from 20 December, 2001.
