'All of the Clients Are Theirs': Lessons for Lawyers From a Law Firm Feud

What can law firms do to prevent departing employees from accessing their databases to collect client information? Not much, attorneys say.
While attorneys say it’s not all that unusual for fellow attorneys to take their clients with them to a new law firm, they also say it’s very rare for an outgoing attorney to access his old firm’s database to gather information on more than 100 clients.
