The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, (OIR) has issued an emergency order, directing that insurers may not cancel or nonrenew personal or commercial residential property insurance policies which cover a dwelling or residential property damaged by or as a result of Hurricane Sally. The property must be located in a listed county. Insurers must wait 90 days after the insured property or dwelling has been repaired before canceling or nonrenewing the policy.
