The U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey – where over 1,000 Superstorm Sandy-related cases are pending nearly two years after the October 2012 storm – has issued a standing order intending to accelerate resolution of the actions.

In the order, the court modified five local rules to shorten certain arbitration and mediation time periods, and to address mediation fees, in Superstorm Sandy cases.
