Liberty Mutual Insurance is adding data compromise coverage to its insurance agents errors and omissions (“E & O”) program. The company said that the endorsement carries an annual aggregate limit of $100,000 for response expenses and an additional $100,000 annual aggregate limit for defense and liability for suits and damages resulting from a personal data breach.

The first party response expenses coverage provides an insured agent the ability to obtain assistance and protections when personal identifying information has been breached, Liberty Mutual said. This could include costs associated with notifying applicable parties of a breach, credit monitoring services, identity restoration case management services, and help line services. The endorsement includes sub-limits of $10,000 for both legal and forensic information technology reviews as well as a sub-limit of $5,000 for crisis communication services.
