The Self-Insurance Institute of America, Inc. (“SIIA”), has announced that the Health Care Administrators Association (“HCAA”) has contributed $25,000 to the SIIA’s legal defense fund (“LDF”). According to the SIAA, this segregated fund serves to pay legal fees and related expenses associated with litigation to protect the business interests of companies involved in the self-insurance/alternative risk transfer marketplace.

The SIIA said that this contribution was the latest in a series of ongoing coordination efforts between the two organizations related to critical government relations and legal defense initiatives.
