Richard Solowan has been named assistant vice president of the GEICO companies. He will be responsible for the personal injury protection (“PIP”) staff counsel operation in New York.

Mr. Solowan joined GEICO in 1992 as an attorney in the company’s staff counsel department, where he defended GEICO and policyholders throughout Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Manhattan.  He later was named lead attorney in Westchester County, a position he held before relocating to GEICO’s Office of Legislative Counsel in Washington, D.C., in 1999. He was the lead legislative attorney on behalf of GEICO when the company re-entered New Jersey in 2004.
