U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor has denied an application for an injunction in a case challenging guidelines issued by the Health Resources Services Ad­ministration (“HRSA”), a component of the Department of Health and Human Services, under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“PPACA”) requiring that non-grandfathered group health plans cover “approved contraceptive methods, sterilization procedures, and pa­tient education and counseling for all women with repro­ductive capacity as prescribed by a provider.”
