ServiceSource Names Patricia Elias General Counsel

Patricia Elias has been named senior vice president and general counsel at ServiceSource. With 18 years of in-house and law firm experience, she will oversee the San Francisco-based company’s worldwide legal operations.

ServiceSource is a revenue-as-a-service solutions provider, and the company highlighted her experience with cloud services, business acumen and her international experience – when appointing her to the post.

“I’ve seen first-hand the transformational impact of the cloud, and with this ongoing trend presenting growing opportunities for ServiceSource,” Elias said in a statement.

Earlier, Elias was vice president and deputy general counsel at ViaWest, a provider of colocation and hybrid IT solutions. She has been a lawyer, too, at Flex, as well as at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, and at Hogan & Hartson.

Moreover, she has been a lecturer at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. She is a graduate of Georgetown University’s law school and Duke University.

Mellanox Appoints Alinka Flaminia General Counsel

Mellanox Technologies has named Alinka Flaminia as senior vice president and general counsel.

In her new post, she will be responsible for worldwide legal affairs, public policy issues and compliance matters. She is also expected to be the company’s corporate secretary.

Flaminia has 25 years of legal experience at tech companies. Recently, she was vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of PMC-Sierra. Earlier, she was senior counsel at Xilinx, and, was manager of Legal Affairs at Network Associates (McAfee). She also worked in private practice, representing technology companies on corporate and litigation matters.

She is a graduate of the University of Colorado law school and Yale University.

Based in Israel and Sunnyvale, California, Mellanox Technologies provides end-to-end InfiniBand and Ethernet interconnect solutions and services for servers and storage.

In a statement, Flaminia notes that, “Global high tech companies are subject to a complex and ever changing set of laws and regulations.”

Madeline Soboleff Levy Promoted to Tribal Council General Counsel

The Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (Central Council) has promoted Madeline Soboleff Levy to general counsel. She formerly was the tribe’s child support attorney – where she provided legal services in paternity and child support cases.  

In her new post, she will provide counsel to the tribe in tribal government, federal-tribal relations, jurisdictional issues, environmental and natural resources law and policy, economic development, tribal business enterprise, and employment issues.

The tribe has a priority of expanding its self-governance and self-determination, according to a statement announcing her appointment to general counsel. It also has a priority of business development and land-into-trust matters.

The Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (Central Council) is a tribal government representing over 30,000 Tlingit and Haida Indians worldwide.

Before working at the tribal post, she was a law clerk for a Superior Court judge in Fairbanks and was an adjunct professor at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. She taught law and policy courses in native studies, federal Indian law and tribal self-governance.  

Soboleff Levy is a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law and also graduated from the University of Puget Sound.

She is Tlingit, Haida, and Norwegian. She is of the Raven moiety, L’eineidi clan (Dog Salmon), Aanx’aakhittaan house (House in the Middle of Town), and is a member of the Xaadas Git’ alang (Children of the Haida) dance group.

She has been on maternity leave following the birth of her son, and was scheduled to start her new job as general counsel on Sept. 19.
