Christine LaFollette is partner in charge of Akin Gump’s Houston office and a member of the firm’s management committee and the office’s diversity committee. She has more than 30 years of experience representing issuers and underwriters in public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities, restructurings and financings. She represents clients in M&A transactions, particularly in the energy industry, and also advises clients with general corporate and compliance matters.
She serves as a director of the Houston World Affairs Council; National Association of Corporate Directors – Houston Chapter; and Texas General Counsel Forum. She is also on the advisory councils for Women’s Energy Network and Tahirih Justice Center.
She has been ranked by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business as an eminent practitioner in corporate and M&A law, among Top Women in Energy by Houston Business Journal and in The Best Lawyers in America.
