Girl Scouts of America USA has recently named the company’s first general counsel, and Jennifer Rochon is the lucky one to receive the nod. Rochon will come to the Girl Scouts by way of New York-based firm Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel, where she is a partner and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. She also chairs the Kramer Levin Women’s Initiative Committee, which focuses on improving the recruitment, retention and advancement of women attorneys.
The NBN Group, a home healthcare services company based out of Cherry Hill, N.J., has named William Begley as the company’s new general counsel. Begley has been a New Jersey private practice name for more than 40 years, acting as a founding partner in Begley, McCloskey & Gaskill, later Begley & Gaskill, from May 1972 to June 2013. He also served as a municipal court judge in various Burlington County municipalities from 1973 through 1979.
Neil Peretz has been named the new general counsel for BillFloat Inc., which provides credit services that help consumers manage cash flow challenges. The partnership is a mutually strong one, as Peretz joins BillFloat after coming over from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where he was a co-founder of the Office of Enforcement. Peretz has also served as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Corporate and Financial Law section among other government jobs.
Former JPMorgan Chase top litigator Michael Coyne is escaping the company’s current legal troubles with a new opportunity: general counsel at San Francisco-based lender UnionBanCal Corp. Coyne previously worked with JPMorgan or one of its predecessors since 1992, serving as co-head of investment-banking litigation since 2010. UnionBanCal is a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc., Japan’s largest banking group.
Christine Pellizzari has joined Insmed, a biopharmaceutical company focused on lung disease treatments headquartered in New Jersey, as general counsel and corporate secretary. Pellizzari comes to Insmed from Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, where she served as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary from 2007 to 2012. She had served as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Dendrite for nine years prior to Aegerion.
Menlo Worldwide Logistics, the global supply chain subsidiary of Con-way Inc., has promoted Susan Santo to senior director and chief counsel. Santo previously joined Menlo in 2010 as an associate general counsel. She previously served as vice president and general counsel for JetDirect Aviation, TAG Aviation USA and PLM International. She has also worked as an attorney in private practice.
Other In-House Moves
The Marcus Corp. has promoted General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Thomas Kissinger to a new role, naming him the company’s senior executive vice president. In addition to his previous responsibilities, Kissinger will hold an increased role in the human resources and corporate real estate departments. He joined the Marcus Corp., a leading lodging and theater operator, in 1993 as director of legal affairs.
