Sean McLaughlin has been named executive vice president, secretary and general counsel for Erie Indemnity Co., replacing the recently retired James Tanuous. Before going to Erie, McLaughlin was chief district judge for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, first appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1994.
SSM Health Care has appointed Patricia Williams as its first-ever corporate vice president, general counsel and head of the newly-formed Legal Affairs Department. Williams previously served as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for RehabCare Group, Inc., from 2007 until its acquisition by Kindred Healthcare, Inc. in 2011.
Cambium Networks, a provider of wireless broadband access and backhaul network solutions, has named Steve McKenna general counsel. Prior to joining Cambium, McKenna served as vice president and first general counsel of Telmar Network Technology.
Medical technology company LipoScience, Inc. has announced Kathryn Twiddy as the company’s vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Twiddy formerly worked at M*Modal, Inc., a provider of clinical documentation solutions and data analytics. She has also worked as vice president and senior associate general counsel for Quintiles Transnational Corp., and general counsel and corporate secretary of Misys Healthcare Systems.
ThedaCare, which operates five hospitals and other medical services in northeast Wisconsin, has named Jim Prosser as the company’s new general counsel. Prosser previously worked with ThedaCare as an attorney with Godfrey & Kahn, the firm that ThedaCare will continue to retain as outside counsel. ThedaCare is the largest employer in Northeast Wisconsin with more than 6,175 employees.
Spurs Sports & Entertainment, the parent company of the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association, has hired Bobby Perez as senior vice president general counsel and corporate relations. Perez previously served as a prosecutor for Bexar County, a San Antonio city council member, and an attorney for almost 20 years at Shelton & Valadez.

Kansas City Royals GC Daniel Crabtree was among the lawyers nominated by President Obama to serve on U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. Crabtree has been a partner at Stinson Morrison Hecker since 1988. It has been during his time at Stinson that Crabtree has served as Royals GC.
