The Working Mother Research Institute and the consulting firm Flex-Time Lawyers have compiled their 2013 50 Best Law Firms for Women list.

Since 2007, the two organizations have been creating the list, which recognizes U.S. firms that create and use best practices in retaining and promoting women lawyers. The firms on the list lead the industry in supporting flexible work arrangements and offering generous paid parental leave. These firms also ensure that lawyers who take advantage of family-related programs aren’t excluded from the partnership or leadership tracks.

Noteworthy findings from this year include:

  • The women working at this year’s winning firms hold 22 percent of executive, 23 percent of compensation and 24 percent of equity partner promotion committee seats
  • 78 percent of this year’s winning firms count one or more women among their top 10 rainmakers, an increase from 69 percent in 2012

The list also includes information about the percent of women at the winning firms. The five firms with the highest percentage of women are:

  • Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz (50 percent women)
  • Littler Mendelson (49 percent women)
  • WilmerHale (43 percent women)
  • Debevoise & Plimpton (42 percent women)
  • O’Melveny & Myers (41 percent women)
