A: Participating as a member of the senior executive team, and being able to help clients deal promptly with complex legal and regulatory issues within the specific context of the relevant business environment, remain core. The widespread growth of social media and the 24/7 news cycle, however, means that more issues arise, more quickly, creating greater opportunity for brand impact. Preparing in advance for potential challenges, including developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organization and at outside advisors, is even more important than it probably has been historically, because the time frame for response may be so much more limited.
