Q: What are some of your proudest recent achievements?
A: Every year, I attend the annual dinners of the Korean American Lawyers Associations (KALAGNY) and the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY). Every year, I am overwhelmed by the attendance of these dinners to celebrate the achievements of Asian American attorneys. However, there was a point where both organizations were floundering to the point of possible extinction. As president of AABANY, I instituted innovative initiatives to jump-start the finances and governance that permitted the organization to grow. I did the same for KALAGNY, and now both organizations have become meaningful voices serving the Asian American communities in New York City.
