SAN FRANCISCO — Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo has poached the former cochairwoman of Morrison & Foerster’s stem cell and regenerative medicine group for its San Francisco office. Terri Shieh-Newton has joined the Boston-based firm as a partner in the intellectual property practice. She will be one of 10 attorneys focusing on the life sciences industry in Northern California.

Michael Renaud, who leads Mintz Levin’s IP practice, said in a statement that Shieh-Newton’s “background in the biological and cellular fields” strengthens the firm’s West Coast presence. Earlier this month, the firm added three attorneys to its Boston office.
