Dallas lawyer Randy Johnston says the State Commission on Judicial Conduct notified him last month that it had dismissed his complaint against 44th District Judge Carlos Cortez.
Johnston filed a lengthy complaint with the commission on May 13, 2009, alleging, among other things, that Cortez “berates, belittles and ridicules his fellow judges both to the public and to other judges.” Johnston attached copies of a series of e-mails between Cortez and several Dallas judges and lawyers to his complaint.
