Regardless of tenure, leaders at a minimum must set direction, engage across boundaries, stay curious, manage risk, and be a role model. The general counsel is a leader. They have the responsibility to implement change and drive innovation linked to the strategy of the business, while also ensuring they build a culture that cultivates motivation, creativity and resilience.
