Global Leaders in Law recently spoke with the Group General Counsel and Company Secretary of Lloyds Banking Group, Kate Cheetham. Cheetham joined the Group Legal team at Lloyds TSB Group in 2005. In addition to her role at Lloyds Banking Group Cheetham is also a Non-Executive Director of Scottish Widows plc. Before being appointed Group General Counsel for Lloyds Banking Group, Cheetham held a number of senior positions including Deputy Group General Counsel and General Counsel for Group Legal. Prior to joining Lloyds TSB, Cheetham was a corporate lawyer at a magic circle firm specialising in M&A. Below, Cheetham discusses the business case for legal department transformation and the future for in-house teams, technological change and the use of AI, and the importance of trust.
