Andrew F. Calman MD PhD, Premier Eyecare of San Francisco

Past President of the California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and Associate Clinical Professor at UC-San Francisco, Yale-educated Dr. Andrew F. Calman provides comprehensive expertise in ophthalmology. Experience includes tort cases emphasizing ocular injuries, complications of cataract surgery, and failure to diagnose and/or treat, for both plaintiffs and defendants, as well as complex corporate patent and antitrust litigation regarding ophthalmic pharmaceuticals and devices. Dr. Calman is a board-certified ophthalmologist who helped pioneer modern techniques in cataract surgery, was involved in making state and national guidelines and coverage policies on cataract surgery, and has trained cataract surgeons at two of the nation's finest ophthalmology residency programs. His private practice in comprehensive ophthalmology also includes glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disease, and other non-surgical problems of the retina, as well as cornea, external disease and neuro-ophthalmic disorders.

He has testified approximately 28 times in deposition or trial, has been qualified as an expert in state and federal courts in the United States, as well as the state supreme court (Oberlandesgericht) of Germany, and has never been disqualified.
