The Delaware Court of Chancery has allowed a former partner at Highland Capital Management to proceed with indemnification claims against the Dallas-based investment manager in a case seeking to recover $2.6 million he said he is owed from previous litigation in Texas.

In a 29-page memorandum opinion, Vice Chancellor Sam Glasscock III said on June 29 that Patrick Daugherty had made an early showing that he could be entitled to attorney fees for litigating the Texas case. However, the judge found that a raft of other claims against his former employer were time-barred by laches.
