Two Delaware legal icons were awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal at a White House ceremony Jan. 2 for their roles in ending school segregation in the state.

Delaware Supreme Court Chief Justice Collins J. "C.J." Seitz Jr. accepted the medal on behalf of his late father and fellow judge, Collins J. Seitz Sr. Dr. Rupa Redding-Lallinger accepted the award on behalf of her late father, Louis Redding, the first Black person to serve as an attorney in the state.
