The Court of Chancery has five magistrates for the first time as of Monday, with Danielle Gibbs, who has served as Delaware Gov. John Carney's chief legal counsel for the past eight years, filling the state court's only vacancy.

Before joining the governor's office, Gibbs, whose chambers are in the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center in Wilmington, was chief deputy attorney general to former Attorney General Matt Denn at the Delaware Department of Justice. Before working for the Diamond State, Gibbs spent 16 years as a corporate litigator at Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor.
