Delaware Gov. John Carney has selected Magistrate Bonnie W. David to serve as a vice chancellor on the Court of Chancery, officially starting the process of appointing Vice Chancellor Sam Glasscock III's replacement.

David has served as a magistrate on the court since the beginning of 2023, with chambers in Georgetown. She joined the court from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where she represented corporations and directors in Chancery matters, including transaction disputes and corporate governance. David graduated summa cum laude with a bachelors degree from Boston University in 2010 and her J.D. cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2013.
