Vice Chancellor Sam Glasscock III became known for his distinctive writing style throughout his first term, and those who keep up with the court know his opinions when they see one: if it gets straight to the point while still including a literary allusion, movie reference or historical fact that wasn’t already part of the record, the odds are that opinion was written by Glasscock.
Glasscock, who was sworn in for a second 12-year term at the end of June, is the second longest tenured vice chancellor currently on the bench, with Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster appointed two years earlier. But having been a master in Chancery since 1999, Glasscock has all together been with the court longer than anyone else currently hearing Court of Chancery cases.
