Claims involving vascular port patents came to an uncommon end in the District of Delaware on Thursday, with a judge overturning a blanket jury verdict for the plaintiffs and siding with the defense on eligibility issues.

The eligibility of the claims made by CR Bard Inc. against AngioDynamics Inc. has been disputed for years, with a similar ruling made mid-trial reversed by the Federal Circuit and sent back to Delaware for a second trial before  U.S. District Senior Judge Joseph Bataillon of the District of Nebraska, who took over the case following the 2017 retirement of Judge Sue L. Robinson.
