VLSI Technology LLC, the company that won a $2.75 billion jury verdict in a patent trial against Intel Corp. in Texas last year, is aiming even higher in its Delaware action against the same company.

VLSI is seeking $3.9 billion in damages on just one of the four patents that it’s asserting against Intel before U.S. District Chief Judge Colm Connolly of the District of Delaware. The figure was submitted under seal in a VLSI expert report, but Connolly disclosed it Monday in an order trimming back VLSI’s damages case.
