A shareholder on Oct. 2 became the latest to claim Honeywell International Inc. intentionally downplayed its asbestos liability by more than $1 billion.

The case filed in the District of Delaware is the fifth derivative action to be brought against Honeywell, its CEO and chairman Darius E. Adamczyk and board members and directors by shareholders who say the company underrepresented how much asbestos liability it faced, while tens of thousands of personal injury cases are still pending against the technology and manufacturing giant.
